I will begin renting my two-bedroom cottage as soon as I buy the furniture. I will buy a queen-size bed for one of the bedrooms. For the second bedroom, I'm debating between a full-size bed, a bunk bed, and a queen-size bed. I would prefer the full-size or the bunk bed, as I want to put a small desk in that room to make it Business Travel ready. Any suggestions?
Also, is it worth it to get a sofa bed to accommodate one or two more guests? The beds in the bedrooms will accommodate 4 guests. There is only one bathroom, and the place is small (around 800 ft).
Thanks so much for the recommendations.
Patricia
For sure it makes a lot of sense to put full-size beds in each bedroom, @Patricia844. There are a lot of people who travel in two couples. A bunkbed is a limitation. Or if you get a bunkbed but with at least 140cm wide space at the bottom. For the first bedroom you might also get a foldable sofa. Thus you might accommodate couples with a kid. Putting in a desk/table makes a lot of sense. Don't forget about a table lamp for that.
Thanks, @Marzena0. I see your're in Europe. I've read that in Europe a full-size bed (or double bed) is fine for two people, but that in the US, to be considered for two people It would need to be a queen-size bed.
@Patricia844 We opted not to get pullout couches. I actually don’t want more people staying at my place. I took out the two full size couches we did have and replaced them with Love seats instead. The big couches just seemed to invite extra people to sleep over.
Now if you sleep over, good luck sleeping on that love seat buddy.
The bed situation is strictly a numbers game. How many people do you want staying there and at what comfort level?
And for every guest you can accommodate, that’s an extra set of everything you need from towels to plates and forks. That means more cost to host a group. We outfit our house for six people. Six place settings, six sets of towels and all that. If you bring more than six, you’re sharing a plate or spoon. So it makes it less comfortable.
where abouts is your listing?

Thanks, Rene. I think you're right, better to have fewer people. We've been renting the cottage for 15 years, always for a max. of two adults and one small child. I didn't foresee there would be so many things to take into consideration when beginning Airbnb. I'm so glad I found this community resource before I buy the furniture. How many bedrooms do you have for your six-people house?

Yes, tricky. Would a double bed also accomodate the desk? If not what about a trundle bed. That is a single bed and another single one under it. Your place may be too small for 6 people and only one bathroom, I'd stick to max 4 people and not put in sofa beds so as to not attract extra people without being informed.
Now you will have the problem I have had. If a couple book for 2 people and they want 2 bedrooms, do you charge extra and how do you do it? I have given up on this. I just make up both rooms, charge xxx for two people and if they use the other bedroom so be it! Or you can write in your listing, xxx is for a couple in one bedroom, if you need two rooms, there is a charge of xxx extra.
Thanks, @Lisa. I think you're absolutely right. I'll begin looking into trundle beds.
