Hi All,
Has anyone dealt with Airbnb Plus? We completed all the designers request (sunk a ton of cash into this), got our final pictures taken and now Airbnb has ghosted us.
We got our final pictures taken a month ago and there has been no responses from either the designer or the airbnb plus e-mails.
Hi @Robin4,
E: About 99% of the text has been removed from the listing too.
So, How is a host going to inform any prospective guest about what his listing really has to offer?
@Cor3 Yeap, you get two or three sentences they chose. Doesn't give anyone thinking about renting any clue as to various options not listed in the amenities section or other need to know things you previously had described to make sure it's a good fit for both you and the guests. This has been a fiasco from the very beginning. They do leave your rules alone though, which is so nice of them.
Hi @Letti0,
Yes, Airbnb should better get their act together on this whole program!
As after the announcement – back in February, I must have seen tons of sites mentioning this new program.
So, when this program will become regarded as somewhat a failure - by the media. This will have a profound effect on the intended IPO.
Up till now, I’ve only witnessed 1 happy Plus host.
The rest of the comments have been more on the negative side of the program.
And as @Robi stated: Who’s in need for entitled/difficult to please/expecting the Ritz type of guests?
@Cor3 The SuperHost status already raises the guests expectations. The Plus program will raise them higher and the reviews will destroy the the hosts because so much information is not in the listing that really needs to be and AirBnB is raising guests standards for these places to levels the hosts are not going to be able to maintain.
Hi @Letti0,
Yep, I really wonder who they consult, when they come up with these type of ideas?
Maybe I’m too old. As I’ve always learned: Don’t fix what isn’t broken.
Maybe they have seriously underestimated what kind of effort it would take to roll out such a program globally.
IMO Cor, I believe what happend was that an "MBA" type wanted to roll this out because people are willing to pay more for a "verfied" listing.
What they forgot was as oppose to # of reviews etc... What a well designed bedroom is a subjective ask as oppose to something you can program for.
This program has been a total and utter disaster. It is now over a year since we were dragged along for this ride. Spent thousands of dollars, only to have been left hanging.
I believe this should be a warning to all of use when airbnb rolls out the latest greatest thing. Either we follow in the beginning 100% and have our units be run via an airbnb corporate person, or don't bother. Stay in the middle you get squished.
@Andrew592 Yes it has been and continues to be a complete and utter disaster. They have lost control over it and are being so demanding that hosts are leaving the program faster than they can sign them up as qualified new hosts. I personally would never book an AirBnB Plus for the simple fact I do read everything about a listing before I book and there is nothing to read on a Plus rental. I do not like the unkown, I want to know all the facts and decide for myself if the place will be a good fit for my family. Other than bother a host with probably 50 questions I would have no other means to find out this information. After the first 4 or 7 questions the host is going to get upset with me bothering her so much that she will refuse to book me lol... Not much good will come from this program for most hosts, but lots of views with fewer bookings IMHO anyway.
I’m not interested in a program that makes me lose control of my listing details and photos
im booked 90% of the time and 99% of the days I don’t block out so I have time to clean etc between guests
nor sure what they think they are offering us
and I’ve never never never gotten any responses from Airbnb when I write or call citing policy or app changes that suck
just apologetic level one customer handlers
not signing up for a program where I lose more control to a company that ignores hosts
As I understood the initial idea was:
- Superhost status means the host is great
- Plus status means the unit is great
btw, those Plus criteria are less then 10% of "minimal techincal requirements" needed in Croatia to get short term rental licence as the lowest possible 3* accomodation. 🙂 Don't even ask what is needed for 4 or 5* ! Hint: garage, land phone line in the bathroom and similar noncence 😛
Hi all - I was approached 6 weeks ago to join the Plus hosting status - it's now i n review but after reading all your comments & info I'm not sure about being part of it. I guess I'll just wait & see how it pans out. I'm based in Brisbane near the airport & am always really busy UNTIL the last 2 months...not sure why or what's changed but it's really concerning.
These part of AIRBNB plus is a nightmare, i have more than 3 mothns sending emails to airbnb and i have no response when is my listing going live to airbnb plus.
