Airbnb evictions

Interesting fact- I spoke to a friend who has an eviction law firm in Chicago. She says she now has a steady pipe line of cases coming though. Basically guests who move in and never leave. She says what makes it most difficult that it is often not the person who made the original reservation. Nothing much we can do to prevent this but should collect information from each and every person that checks in.

@Kelly149, Right, You have to prepare for such situations before they happen. We own this place, we control this place and set the rules, and we will certaily not bother airbnb with such kind of trifles.

Still unclear if this is short term or long term?

Less than 30days, no rights. I would imagine hotels and guest houses have some nice laws to have anyone not paying removed for trespassing without any legal process.

Here you go. Airbnb might do well to borrow some of the language. It's heavily weighted in the favor of the hotel owner....

Police is not going to just remove someone from a house just on a claim they do not belong there. Hopefully none of will ever have to deal with this

I found this

https://www.criminaldefenselawyer.com/resources/how-do-i-get-rid-a-house-guest-who-wont-leave.htm

All my bookings are short stay, think a week is the longest I have had so I do not envisage any issues and am quite prepared to escort them from the premises if needed.

I do not do long term discounts so do not get people staying long term. I do have a Long Term Rental but have a proper lease and security deposit.

The overall trick in hosting, so that nothing gets out of hand, is to maintain control.
