Airbnb says - shut down hosts with more than 2 or 3 listings...

Fascinating to see Seattle leading the way with our approach to licensing Airbnb :

 

Of the 400 regulatory frameworks Airbnb has around the world Lehane pointed to the one signed late last year with Seattle in the US as a “great example” Sydney could look at.

“They made it real easy for primary (and) people could do a handful of vacation rentals,” he said.

“They wanted to limit the numbers so someone wasn’t having 10-20-30 of these properties but they had enough because people wanted to have investment properties.

We will also get to pay a 15.6% tax to the state from next year...

It can be really stressful when hosts don't know what the rules are;

at least now there is clarity!

 

It sounds like a reasonable compromise, and keeps the small scale hosts in business.
