20 bars of 2 ounce Ivory soap currently for $12.38 at CVS Pharmacy. That's when you buy one package of 10 for $6.19 and 50% off for the 2nd pack.

Do you buy small travel size shampoo and conditioner? if so what brand?

@Pete69, if you get a dispenser (one you can just stick to the wall of the shower), it will hold the shampoo, conditioner, soap, and if you want, lotion (3 or 4 dispensers, all in one).

Best,

Kim

@Kimberly54 We tried this and the dang things fall off the wall and they were not cheap ones either.

@Pete69  I do supply hotel amenities. I get them from  https://www.accentamenities.com/esa/ I supply all of the items they offer for the ESA Brand. I also keep a lot of these handy:  https://www.accentamenities.com/comforts-of-home-room-ready-kit/ If a guest loses their luggage which happens more than most think I have these on hand for the guests.

@Letti0, @Pete69:  here's what I bought through Amazon--

AWESOME.  The adhesive strips are wicked-strong, so make sure it's level before you stick it on the wall.  EASY to refill, and keeps all of the clutter out of the shower.

Best,

Kim

@Letti0

Interesting, but it seems incredibly wasteful, all that one use plastic. What do you do for longer stays?

I buy travel sized bar soap from https://www.accentamenities.com/. Packs of 100 for around $30. The shipping is high but I am also completely across the country. It may be cheaper on the west coast. I have a lot of one night stays so a .35oz bar is perfect and the packaging looks nice. If guests are staying more than a few nights I will give them a full bar of something fancy.

I used to buy mini shampoos and conditioners from there as well but then I thought about how wasteful they are. Now I just keep a bottle of good quality shampoo and conditioner in the shower and it seems to work well.

The shipping is actually outrageous! For that kind of money, I can buy Yardley Oatmeal soap from Dollar General, full sized, and give one to each and every guest.

@Pete69, I bought some lovely shampoo, conditioner, face soap, and body soap from https://www.hotelitems.com/ . They had several price points and product lines. The total cost for all the toiletries seemed like a lot at the time, but the unit price was really good.I feel like the coordinated amenities make the bathroom look more luxurious than the dispensers on the wall. Shipping was speedy and their customer service was terrific, too.

Too expensive!!! Get a big pump bottle. We have regular  shampoo, shampoo for men, conditioner and 3 types of liquid body soap including a manly body wash! Anna

We found cases of small individual-use soaps on Amazon! They are nice because we can put new soaps out for each guest instead of leaving out larger "community use" bottles.

Below is the link:

I have a refillable pump set for shampoo, conditioner and body wash. It's plastic but looks coordinated. We keep them filled with popular local brands that have a unisex scent. We also provide separate hand liquid soap. We have soap bars (different sizes depending on length of stay) but only provide if requested.

No soap: just makes a sticky mess. Avoid small packaging and just go for larger shared containers. Save the world! I buy mine whenever they are on special and always have a backup in the wings. Just standard stuff.

I used to make my own tiny soaps: Never a waste as guests took them home. Don't do it anymore because of messy soaps = bad.

I do what @Jessica-and-Henry0 do.  I recently renovated my guest bath.  I looked into the wall attached dispensers but was scared by the uneven reviews about how well the dispensers stayed on the wall.  One thing to be aware of when providing shampoo, body wash and conditioner, is to stay away from strongly scented items.  There are many people who are sensitive to artificial scents and might as well stay neutral.

I suggest that you buy in bulk! By doing that you'll have supplies in stock when they need to be refilled. Plus, you won't have to refill it as often. Also, opt for fragrance-free or neutral scents because then it's suitable for both men and women. I found these tips in this blog post: https://www.airgms.com/property-management-software/?s=bathroom&utm_source=Airbnb%20Community%20Cent...

Nice topic @Pete69.

I wonder do you think in general your guests have a preference over the way in which shampoo/soap is provided (ie. little bottles / larger bottles / dispensers)? Or do you think it doesn't make much of a difference?

Thanks

Lizzie
