Another year has come and gone.

I needed a break from hosting and work around here, and this last week has seen me reach another milestone. I have left three quarters of a century behind and on the 25th August became a 76 year old!

Friends of ours suggested we have a few days away to celebrate in a beach-side holiday hamlet over on York Peninsula, so we packed plenty of nice food and a few decent wines and off we went for a few wonderful days of sun, sea and fun. 

We caught some fish, told a few tall stories until long into the night and had time away from the worries of the world.

I don't know if it's just my age showing, or if champagne bottles are getting harder to open but, one of my birthday presents has suddenly made my life so much easier!!!!

Like I said, I needed that break, batteries are recharged and it's back to hosting again!

Happy belated Birthday @Robin4! They say you're only as old as you feel, and you certainly seem like a young-spirited soul to me 😊

I've just googled Yorke peninsula and it looks dreamy! Hope you had a great time and some R&R away from all the projects and the hosting.

Katie, there is a group of us who all have something to offer!

Lorraine and John (who featured in that video) have two caravans and a 7 metre half cabin boat! One of their caravans is a permanent fixture in the caravan park at Stansbury on York Peninsula. The van is stored off site in a communal van lot for a cost of $400 per year, and when they want to use it they just phone the management who tractor it onto a preferred powered site in the park, hook the power up and all our friends have to do is turn up with their provisions and.....have a good time. And that is what we did.

Other friends (John and Margaret) have a fabulous beach house at Goolwa overlooking the southern ocean, they can sleep 14 in supreme comfort and many a good weekend has been had there.

For our part we have our houseboat on the river Murray.......

Sleeps 10  if it has to...... but 6 comfortably.

We have this rented out through a specialist houseboat hire company, who although being exceptionally greedy taking 40%, do keep a steady supply of holidaymakers 'walking the plank'! 

So many creamy lovely summer nights have been spent around those tables and in that Jacuzzi

So, we all bring something to the table of life. At our age we have earned the right to have a good time, and we bloody well make sure we do!!

@Robin4 this looks amazing! I can't believe it's got a jacuzzi - it's bigger than my flat too, very envious! 

Do you get away on it yourselves much?

p.s. I feel like I went to the Murray River when I was in Aus as the name rings a bell, but I can't think which bit. Maybe it was just the Melbournians who used to talk about it 🤔
