Barbados occupancy tax

Can anyone help me with the new Barbados tax for occupancy? My understanding is that guests will be charged this new tourist tax but as a host am I responsible for collecting it?

Depends on whether Barbados has made arrangements with Airbnb to collect it. Here in Los Angeles it's collected automatically.

1. Go to edit your listing
2. Click Manage Listing for the listing you'd like to view
3. Above your listing photo, click Local laws

If occupancy taxes are being collected and remitted on your behalf, they'll be listed on the page.

As far as I know, yes, host must collect the tax and pay over to Barbados Revenue Authority Every couple of month. You do need to first register your rental property wit BTPI beforehand.
