Can only the guest review appear?

Can someone please clarify this for me.

If a guest writes a review and the host does not, Does the guest review appear on the host page?

I always thought that it took both reviews to be written  for any to appear.

Thank you for the advice.

If only one party writes a review, that review appears when the review window closes after two weeks.

Thank you. Does the host still have a right of reply?

Yes, but assuming you are the host in question, why wouldn't you review the guests?

Yes but only in the 14 day Window

Thank you, yes I have read that article too. and still I couldn't see where it answered my question, because it says this.

"You have 14 days after checkout to write a review for a trip. Reviews will be posted once both the host and guest complete a review."

It specifically says when "both reviews are completed."

So does only one get posted if they other does not write - was my question. Which I think has been answered now.

@Gordon0  I wasn't going to review the awful guest I was going to be kind to her, but I have left her a review because she left me one, which I knew was going to be an invention of untruths. But it is what it is and can't be changed. it is airbnb policy guests can say whatever they like.

@Gina32 I guess you understand not reviewing an "awful" guest is effectively stiffing your fellow hosts?

Don't worry, she's going to be a really nice guest to everyone else. It's just me she wanted to be vindictive towards. How do I know? trust me I know, she is a local person.

@Gina32

After 14 days from the stay any review relating to a stay that has been received will be posted, it doesn't need both Gina.

It never used to be this way but you do now have the right to leave a public response to a review even though you may not have written one for the guest, or the guest for the host!

Interestingly, it says in the help centre guides that you have 30 days to leave a public review response, but that is not correct. I was going back through my reviews  a couple of weeks ago, (I always respond to every guest review) and I came across a review that had been posted for 57 days and I had not left a response! The blue ' Reply to this review' field was still there, so I did, and it was accepted.

Where this is most useful, if a host cancels a guest booking an automated posting will be put on the hosts review page that they had cancelled a guest reservation. That blue field...' Reply to this Review'  will be offered and the host can leave a public response as to why the reservation had to be cancelled. I think this is a good feature because there are some reservations that do not fall under the extenuating circumstances clause which cannot proceed, and at least the host has the opportunity to clarify why.

Cheers......Rob
