Centrally located listings unfairly positioned on first page

When you do a general search you can mostly see only centrally located listings on a first few pages. Why?

After looking at few next pages further location are beginning to show. There are even centrally located listings that do not have five star ratings and many five star hosts and even superhosts, who are located further from city centre, are behind them.

Shouldn't host who take additional efforts providing guests excellent travel experience be on that top pages?

Shouldn't guest feedback be the main criterium for listings positioning?

@Blagoje0  The position of the listing is related to the center of the map.  If you move the map or zoom into an area, the listing position changes.  As a traveler, especially looking into a large city, you want the ability to see listings based on area.  While hosts may not like it, we have to understand that this system is for travelers as well.  There is a good video of how the search function works that might give you some ideas about how to market your listing in such a popular city.

I think that new guests deserve to see top rated listings first when searching city for their stay.

I have to disagree - from a travellers/guest point of view they often wish to stay in a certain area (downtown, by the beach, etc.). Also, they can see top rated listings in any particular area by ticking superhost as an option.

Guests love and enjoy staying at top rated listings regardless of the location. They are the one who make that listings top rated. So guests satisfaction during their stay should be main criterium for listing visibility couse guests enjoyed that listings the most!

- higher rated listings- higher guests experience - higher ranking
- lower rated listings- lower guests experience - lower ranking

Lower rated listings in same town should never outrank higher rated listings.
It is bad for guests it is bad for hosts.
If someone want to stay in specific area of town he can easily zoom the map and continue to search
