Change in composition of guests

Hey guys,

I am renting out my place through AirBnB for quite some time now. And I normally have great experiences! I am very careful when it comes to selecting guests and normally do not accept a group of 3 men. Now this weekend, a man booked for myself himself, his wife and a friend. Now, they just sent me an email that the wife will not come, but another guy will replace him. This will mean I will be hosting 3 guys all of a sudden and I do not feel comfortable with this situation.

I cannot find any information on AirBnB about such a case and whether this is a valid reason to cancel...

Does anyone know if there's anything I can do...?

I think there is a option when you go to cancel that allows you pick 'safety' I can't remember the exact wording. If you select the reservation and then alter/cancel I believe it allows you to pick why you are canceling and if its a safety issue you will not be fined.

@Imke2 , I think that if you state this conditions in your house rules, then you'll have a good excuse to cancel the reservation.

Contact AirBnB before you cancel - I am not sure that this is extenuating circumstances for cancelling and you may end up being penalised. Best to check first.
