@Tony-And-Una0 - I think the guest has to state a reason for cancelling? So 'changed my mind' does not count, even if it was to do with covid... Presumably the guest has to tick a box or state, that they are not allowed to travel, or something...?

I think some hosts mentioned it did not count if the HOST cancelled... & that savvy hosts instructed guests to do the cancelling & make sure it was covid related. - Could be time scale too? Check the policy re cancellations too far into the future?

Extremly shady to say "we will refund 25% of all cancelled bookings to host" to later see in the fine print that you will get 0-12.5% refund. I had a moderate cancellation policy and had several ones that was cancelled less than 5 days prior to arrival and they are all "not applicable".

Airbnb have handled this crisis terribly in every single possible way. Do not write in a way that we will hope for some kind of economic compensation or relief. It would have been better to communicate that we are contract workers and if there is no work, no pay, hard and simple. At least that would have been honest. I much prefer how homeaway and booking have dealt with this by not trying to claim we will get compensation, at least that way we would not get our hopes up.
