Check your listings! Non-shared rooms suddenly marked as shared.

Check the "Rooms and Spaces" sections of your listings! There are new options for designating which rooms are shared and with whom. All of my listings' bedrooms and bathrooms were pre-ticked as "shared." No idea when that happened but it seems it could explain a slow-down in bookings...

There are also new options to associate photos with specific rooms.

Thanks for another smooth and well-documented feature roll-out, Airbnb!  😞

@Airbnb And you don't bother to notify hosts of changes to the platform and their listings exactly why?

Not notifying hosts of changes before you implement them is the issue here. Your damage-control explanation entirely misses the point. Making changes to the platform which hosts have to find out about by accident and then madly try to notify other hosts here on the CC, rather than Airbnb letting hosts know that a change is about to happen is unbelievably irresponsible, hugely disrespectful, and atrocious business practice.

If this is true, and it wasnt live, why did I have at least 2 inquiries about wether the space was shared or private?

@Airbnb Really that was your “best”? Depressing. A correction: hosts who correct their data will have their entire spaces shown as such on their listings while those who don’t will not have this label, so they will appear by omission as shared. Also, bed counts will be wrong if you offer beds in non-bedrooms.
