City of Canning, Perth - Any Approval for Short Term Accommodation?

Hi Hosts

I am interested to know if any host had successfully obtained approval for short-term accommodation (STA) with the City of Canning in Perth, Western Australia? I was told by a senior compliance officer that there is slim chance to get approval for STA especially for apartments in a multi dwellings. Even for a residential property it will be subjeted to inspections and neighbourhood agreements.

As I had read  ABC News report (https://amp.abc.net.au/article/9505984) back in 3 March 2018, where many other suburbs are operting STA and some been approved to carry out STA. I would be interested to find out what are the conditions and requirements to obtain a approval permit. Thank you and look forward get reply from any host in WA or other states in Australia or Airbnb rep.

Hi Keat,

We operate a small business mainly based around short term accomodation.

We have found it almost impossible to get approval any apartments for short term irresective of shires,

as the council of owners have to sign off for suitable for AIR BNB/ short term.

Thank you so much for your time to reply and your helpful advice. I have already started to engage property agent to seek long term tenant for my apartment. As I also feel it would be difficult to get approval. Appreciate your feedback.
