One of my first guests stayed for a week to finish a book she was writing.
Then she and her husband came back the following year.
And they returned one last time.
The reason it was their last time was …
….they fell in love with the area so much they bought a cabin two doors away!
And now we’re neighbors.
After they moved in we met on the road and talked.
“We love it here but there’s one bad thing about owning the cabin,” she said.
I thought about what it could possibly be. Bears? Snow Plowing? Taxes?
And then she said, “because we won’t be staying at your cabin any more and we loved it so much.”
We lost a guest but gained an amazing neighbor!
Here's to airbnb and the amazing connections we make through hosting!
@Joanne-Flynn0 What a lovely story. That is what I like of Airbnb as well. Very often your guests become your friends and things start to happen and take a life of their own.
Thank you for sharing this.

@Joanne-Flynn0 this is really lovely to read! What a sweet thing to have happen 🙂
@Joanne-Flynn0 what a beautiful story! And definitely a good reason to lose a repeat guest 🙂
@Joanne-Flynn0 I love it when a guest becomes a friend! Even better would be to have the new friend become a neighbor. Lucky you!
Such a lovely story @Joanne-Flynn0.
It's so nice to hear that your guests loved the area so much that they wanted to make it their new home.
Are you meeting up quite a lot now?

What a great story. I have also made friends through hosting, some of whom have already been back to stay with me, not as paying guests but as friends. None of them have moved to my neighbourhood yet though, but you never know!
Sounds like you really changed these people's lives and for the better.
Stories like yours make my heart soar, there are not too many jobs we can do on this earth where we get paid to have this much fun!
I hope you and your neighbour go from strength to strength Joanne!
Cheers......Rob
@Joanne-Flynn0it's the little things in life that mean a lot to people when they are on holidays that encourage people to return and make a home.
May your conversations and experience be a lesson we can all take away and use in life to inspire others.
Been kind and taking the time to converse in a friendly manner makes many people's day.
All the best
Hello everyone, I became an AirBNB host last month and I am loving it already. It's such a great feeling hosting people, becoming friends and above all getting paid. What a great job. I've a feeling I'm really going to enjoy my retirement.
