We have a situation whereby a disapproving neighbour in the apartment next to ours is on the Body Corporate Committe and is trying to push for a ban on short term leasing by introducing a special by-law. Under the current Strata By-Laws there is nothing mentioned about short term leasing at all so we aren't breaching anything by offering the apartment through AirBnb.
I asked the Body Corporate Manager and was told that there was no provision made for short term leasing when the DA for the complex was registered with the council in Sydney 20 years ago.
Does anyone have a similar experience where they were able to successfully argue the case for short term leasing?
