Dinged for location, skewed rating system

Dinged for location, skewed rating system

Airbnb gave me a warning (which I assume will show to those looking to book/look at listings) about "Recent low ratings for Location"

This is extremely frustrating as I cannot change the location of my listing and it is CLEARLY stated in my listing and on the Location page where my Airbnb is located.

As a Superhost I am meticulous about a great experience and this Location score is the thorn in my side.

Also is 4 stars really considered a "low rating"? The rating system is skewed and I can only control what I can control. Le sigh.

Hey @Angela608 your listing looks lovely 🙂

Looking at the top of your review section on your listing you are 5* in all sections, and just 4.5* in location.

Most of the reviews on your front page actually compliment your location, so I don't think you should worry too much! As you say it's out of your control.

I had a guest stay with me because my place was a 10 min walk to his friends place that he was visiting- ideal for a 5* location rating you'd think...but 4* in review!

The location rating is a bit silly- people can say what they wish, and I await a review like "I thought Paul's place would be closer to the moon than it was- 4* location!"

As you say the system is skewed, there is plenty of talk about that on the CC and hopefully one day Airbnb will review the review system to make it fairer for hosts.

Keep up your good work 🙂

Hi @Angela608   You are very clear about where your listing is.  Airbnb has said many times location is not a factor for a listing and is not taken into account for ratings – hum!  I would ignore it,  looks like an out-of-control alogorithm has invaded the system and is having some fun sending out warnings to stress out hosts.
