Does Airbnb pay for property damages?

Hello friends,

I am a relatively new host, maybe for an year now. Recently a group of 20 people stayed at my property. When they left, I noticed that the faucet in the shower was broken. I contacted the guest who booked my place and he didnt bother to reply. I then escalated the situation to Airbnb. They have done nothing but made it difficult for me since I lodged the complaint. I am curious if they other hosts were reimbursed by Airbnb for the damages caused by some guests. I ask asking $250 to repair the faucets and I cant believe how much they are fighting me on this.

I sent them the picture of the broken faucet. I sent them a quote from a construction company for repairing the shower. I sent them a link to the manufacturer of the faucet, so they can see the price for themselves. They are still not convinced that the guests damaged the property. They are not believing that the quote I sent is legitimate. It was on the letter head of the construction company for crying out loud.

I was busy with other things and couldn't write a review for the guest. I passed the 14 days mark and I cannot do anything about warning others about him.

Would love hear from fellow hosts.

@Arvind1If you have a little time, see the numerous threads already on this subject, they will prove informative. Here is a synopsis of the present state of affairs: getting Airbnb to pay for anything is usually as tough as pulling teeth from a jumping wild camel; not impossible but tricky.

Btw, when 20 people stay at your place you do run a high risk of having 'something' brake, unless they are 20 Hindu priests in retreat in somber meditation. If they happen to be young, it is a mathematical certainty.

  Good luck.
