Highclere Castle where Downton Abbey is filmed is involved in a competition with AIRBNB for those who may be planning a holiday to the UK.

Are there any Hosts who live nearby Highclere?

It'd be some night to remember staying in such a historic home with 300 rooms.

I bet they all have some great stories they could tell.

I had the pleasure of attending the movie premiere at our local Event Cinema, Broadway, Newmarket here in Auckland recently.

Accompanying us was Zara the Jack Russell who dressed up in her coat on a chilly Auckland winter's evening.

Delightfully she posed gracefully like the lady behind her in the photo - dogs are cleverer than we take them for - How many would pose with their leg the same as an actress??

That reminds me, I won a book in a competition through my best friends publication - no it wasn't a rig out.

Zara didn't quite make it in to watch the movie despite our best efforts - she was very comfortable though in the managers office - shhhh.

They are having movie sessions here now at one of the inner city cinema's, The Academy, that people can take their dogs with them so long as they adhere to conditions.

Do they allow them into the cinema in the UK?

Oh Highclere is a pretty impressive house and the countryside around it is beautiful – we do have some pretty large houses here in the UK! We are a bit of a fan of period dramas here, so they get well used and I bet you can get a nice cup of tea there! hehe

I have to confess, I have slightly lost track of what's happening in Downtown Abbey though. Is the film on the same story line as the television program?? Will I know what's happening if I go to see the film, even though i've not seen the last series? 🙂
