Funny Math and Partial Guest Payment

Can someone explain how the partial guest payment when booking works?

I have a cancellation after I specifically mentioned the policy and it sounds like airbnb isnt refunding her 50% because she booked a partial payment option? Meanwhile im trying to figure out how they came up with the payout and refund they said they issued and none of the math makes sense...

Hi! @Zappa0 wondering if you ever received an answer on this? It is a particular headache for me, as I cannot request pet fees or taxes until the reservation is fully paid.
