GOVERMENT ID VERIFICATION I.E DRIVERS LISCENSE OR PASSPORT

I THINK IT SHOULD BE MANITORY FOR EVERY POTENTIAL GUEST TO HAVE TO VERIFY WITH AIR BNB A GOVERNMENT ID I.E PASSPORT / DRIVERS 

PRIOR TO BEING ABLE TO REQUEST A BOOKING

BY HAVING THIS BE A STANDARD PROCEDURE

IT WILL HELP PROTECT THE HOST BY REQUIRING  ALL  GUEST TO UPLOAD GOVERNMENT VERIFICATION THIS WILL SHOW SOME CREDIBILITY OF WHO THEY ARE

I ALWAYS REQUEST MY GUEST TO DO THIS PRIOR TO BEING ACCEPTED 

WHICH BY HAVING HIGHER SECURITY STANDARDS YOU MAKE THE GUEST MORE ACCOUNTABLE WHICH IT MAY HELP AIR BNB INSURANCE RATES

You can set in your listing to accept only guests with verified ID... but.. it doesn't help you at all. You will see their name and that's it. In case of any problems Airbnb will not reveal personal informations about your guest, number of his ID or passport , date of birth etc..  so the police will not be able to find him and you will not be able to sue him.

The best is if you take their photo ID on arrival , make a photo or copy or just write down their personal informations. This is mandatory in many countries where hosts have to register their guests and you have a right to do it. It just have to be written in your house rules.

I would never ever give the keys of my property to the total stranger without having his ID and I can't believe how many hosts do that on daily basis. I've seen a video about Airbnb guests trashed someone's home and  the policeman said he can't understand how people are naive...

It should be manitory  , for Airbnb to request this from every potential guest that is rrequesting a booking

It should be a requirment prior to a guest bookingWhat you are speaking about is on instant booking and this is something you have to select for this is not an automatic as it should be

when you choose instant book and if you do select this requirment it will put you further on the pages

but i say this should be standard requirment for every booking 

Instead I have to request that my guest do this upgrade every time I see they have not given an goverment verification upgrade to air bnb

The irony to this on my progress report / the part i need to improve I'm told in a round about way I need to  not request this . Now if you are host and you want to see this change that it is standard for all potential guest to have to submit a government id prior to requesting a booking then please copy paste this and send it to air bnb care team this way we host are better protected The more they see this request from ir bnb host this will be adressed and upgraded as a standard
