Guest requesting refund for partial stay

Hi Fellow hosts, I have a guest that stayed 1 night of 3 she booked and this morning she texted me to say that she had an emergency and needed to leave and asked if she gets a refund. She was very nice and no other issues - i.e. I don't think she is trying to game anything.

 

The income doesn't make or break me, but is helpful.

 

What would you do?

@Valerie192 the guest can cancel if they want.

 

The amount they should receive depends on what Cancellation Policy the booking was made under.

You can let AirBnB handle the money aspect of it.

It is entlrely up to you if you want to refund the guest *more* than they are due according to cancellation policy. The guest (or AirBnB) may ask you if you would like to refund more than is due, but if you say "no" then the guest will only get what is normally refunded.

 

 

Thanks @Matthew285 I eneded up telling the guest she should call Airbnb to work out what may or may not be owed to her. That way it puts the onus on her and them.
