Has anyone noticed a drop in bookings this year?

Hi,

Last year I had tons of bookings in April more than I could accept. This year I have next to none for the whole month.  I have great reviews and nothing my end has changed. Has anyone else experienced this?   Wondering if it could be that  AIRBNB has suggested pricing, which is so low it doesn't not even cover my base costs.

Is anyone accepting these very low suggested prices?

Thanks for any response

I've only hosted since May last year and found it has been reasonable but, as of two weeks ago, Ive gone from 80% booked to 25% booked, heading towards even less.  This has never happened before. I too wondered if this could correspond to the automatic pricing that has just started, as it is incredibly low.  I wish I knew what it was.

Hi

We have been hosting on AirBnB since 2013.  This spring and summer is incredibly light.  I can't figure it out.  We have absolutely no pending reservations until on in August with a repeat guest.

We have a guest right now who has stayed with us three summers in a row.  She tried and tried to book from overseas and could not get her booking secured.  Both of us spoke with AirBnB help and got absolutely nowhere.  Her daughter ended up booking for her and she has very bitter feelings about the entire situation.  I am not sure she will return to us which is unfortunate.

A good friend had another unfortunate experience with AirBnB and was given a coupon.  When she went to redeem it, she could not.  Again, this left a sour feeling about AirBnB.

I have changed our pricing, worked on our pictures, joined a group to promote my listing and still nothing.  I wonder if AirBnB is growing too fast and not able to keep up or if travel is just off???  Would like to hear others thoughts.

Almost no bookings here since April, while before that we were pretty much booked solid.

Does anyone know how to get in touch with AirBnB to discuss how the listings pop up?  Last night I was looking on a friend's computer and we were the fifth page down.   This seems nuts after we are Superhosts, have 5 star reviews and have been doing this since 2013.  There are brand new people and people with fewer reviews that pop up first.  Any thoughts on how we can promote ourselves better??

Same here 😞

I have almost no views lately, let alone bookings 😞

@Josie-And-William0 You can't change the order of the listing. Each search comes up with a new ranking, so you may be on page 5 this morning, and page 1 this afternoon, and page 10 tomorrow morning. There are a huge number of factors that go into the ranking algorithm. Speaking with a telephone operator will not help your rankings so your efforts might be better spent trying to create links for your site on Facebook or other social media platforms, creating a web site for your page, adding keywords to your page so that it will show up in Google searches, etc.

Hi Ed and Hugh, happy new year and happy hosting. I have been a super host since I started like you in 2015. My bookings were consistent through 2015 and inyo Match 2016 with approximmately 90% occupancy. And then almost from one  nnday to the other from April on the bookings started to weaken and 2017 is totally stagnant. are down snd 2017

My aplogies for the typos and mispellings. I can't understand why but the prompt does not allow me to go back and correct. So embarrassed.

I used to book at AirBnb. They’ve gotten to expensive with all the fees.  Not worth it anymore.
