Host Account hacked - Payout account changed fraudulently

I am hoping to hear from other hosts who may have had experienced hacking on their account. Unbeknowest to myself, some time in December somehow my payour bank account details were deleted and a new overseas bank account added. Over $6,000 dollars has gone missing!!! I have contacted airbnb and told my case is being referred to a specialist area fro them to investigate. I have changed my password and checked my notifications are listed to go to my proper email/mobile. I received NO notifications in December of any changes to my account!! To say this situation is alarming is an understatement. I have no way of knowing is my account is safe nor when someone will contact me from this "special" team. How am I supposed to make mtge repayments?? Feeling very angry and betrayed!!! Any advice/suggestions welcomed. Thanks

We had our email account hacked and there were able to do something similar but with not airbnb. If they have access to your email, they can immediately intercept that email and completely erase it. I would start with your email account security. Sounds like a nightmare. Good luck!

yes we have changed all our passwords now. And yes being ignored by the Safe and Trust team is a nightmare!

Just wanted to post an update. After 3 long weeks Airbnb returned the missing funds. No real explanation was given, we were just advised to change our passwords on our account/email/google etc

Hello,

Exactly the same thing has happened to me this week and I've only just realised (I have an outstanding call with the Trust and Security team).  I recieved no email to my account to tell me that a new account number had been added and it was created as a default.  I have been told that an email was sent to me on 20th August to my email account but it's not there!)

Only info I got from Airbnb is the name of the hacker Jennis Salls from USA. The ac. number finishing ***0910

Hi Emma, the same happened to me as I just shared with another Airbnb host. Thousands of dollars were sent to an account that was fraudulently added to my profile without me being notified. I feel everyone on here who was defrauded like this should combine forces and demand to be paid back by Airbnb or take these cases public. 

@Emma495  hi Emma, was your case resolved? Did they refund you? My account has been hampered with and funds have been redirected to a fake paypal account?

That's alarming because same thing happened to me twice within a week! The only difference is that I received notification to my mobile and I changed bank account introduced by the hacker (***7672 USD) back to mine on time. But when I contacted support they just told me to change the password : / What's going on Airbnb?

I also had somone using my account money was going on some card that I don’t know. I have opened 6 cases with Airbnb support but they close like everything is ok. After 15 days of trying to resolve issues some associate over to phone help me. Money came on my account 17 days after. I was angry, disappointed feeling an safe. Because with of 15 days they didn’t say to me sorry or we resolve this for you Nothing. Still missing some money from other months that I also report same time. But I need to open new case it’s been already 6 days pass. I still don’t have money, emails from Airbnb are not going in inbox, they going to trash, I don’t know way. I ‘m not getting reservations. My listing is last for my city, I ‘m superhost. Don’t know what to do. I already write hundred messages to them. I’m so tired.

How you mean it that your messages our going to the trash. @

I have maybe similar problem with my airbnb mobile app. From some reasons I cannot read messages from airbnb help support centre.

There has been fraudulent activity on my account as well, and my payout information was moved to a different unrecognized paypal account! Were you able to resolve and did you get your funds back from airbnb
