Host cancelation reasons that won’t be charged

I need to cancel a reservation months before the booking because for financial reasons I need to sell the house. Do you think I will still be charged the host cancellation fee?

I cant imagine why you would be charged, it may fall under an extenuating circumstance.  If you are under a financial hardship that warrants you selling a house the host cancellation fee should be the least of your worries.

The host cancellation charges are draconian. I’m in a right pickle about it all.

@Cheryl178from what I have read others post, Airbnb works with you in this situation. Once under contract, give them a call and explain. They will cancel the reservation without any penalty or change to your standing.
