Have you noticed that some cities are making an effort to regulate Air BnB - or eliminate the service we offer entirely? Since the state of CT is happy to follow in the footsteps of New York, it seems reasonable to think that some legislator would be likely to attempt such a thing here, apparently we are already getting taxed. The only way to avoid this is to make sure that we do not operate in isolation.
Hotel owners are our competition and if they start telling legislators that we are somehow dangerous or not clean, business could quickly become more difficult for all of us. I would like to get in front of this sort of interference.
