How do you go about scheduling pool cleaners and gardeners with guests?

I have a pool cleaner that would come once a week and a landscaper that would come more or less once a month. With these guys, it's hard to schedule them for a specific day but I understand that it could raise some issues with guests - specifically if a pool cleaner comes into the backyard unannounced while a guest is there and things like that. How do you get around this?

Hello @Bissy0

i would advise that in your house rules, so guest know it before booking, that in order to keep the garden beautiful, you have specialists (fin the good wording here 😉) that need to take care of the pool, garden, etc.

Ensure that you will request them to advise you ahead of time before their visit when possible but that you cannot garantie that a last minute visit may happened.

If people are advise ahead of time, they will appreciate that you take care of their (your) garden.

In the house booklet, repeat that info with the details of the company names or guy’s name in order for you guest to be able to identify them and to ensure these people are aloud on your land.

also, ask those workers to advise you whenever they can before their visit and to be as discrete as possible. But I know it can be hard, especially with the pool cleaning company (it’s the case here anyway) where the team members are young, sometime loud and mostly without much experience on customer services …

always better if the guest know what to expect

@Annie1372  Absolutely make sure that your guests know that these services have been contracted for and that they arrive on their own schedule.  Having the name of the company in the house binder is a plus. However, you may want to be very specific when contracting with the pool company or gardener that only X day is to be a service day.
