My guests arrived 3 days ago for a stay of 20 nights. They have just told me that they will probably only stay for 16 nights now.
I am happy to provide them with a refund for the nights they no longer plan to stay but I don't know what to advise them about how they go about it. I have already received the funds into my account for the full 20 day stay.
Do they just deal directly with Airbnb or do i have to do something? If they have to go through Airbnb, i'm curious to know how Airbnb will recoup the refund monies from my account?
My cancellation policy is "Moderate" if that makes any difference.

Ok, Thanks Dave, that answers part of my query.
But i still don't know the answer to the 2nd part of my query which was...
"I am curious to know how Airbnb will recoup the monies from me when I have already been paid the funds?"
Will they bill me, expect me to send them the funds or will they simply deduct the funds from my next booking?
Appreciate you taking the time to help me with this.
Jon
If you have already been paid, the difference will be subtracted from your next payment.
Hi Jon,
I'm in a similar situation, and was curious to know if indeed Airbnb took it out of your next booking, and how long it took the guests to receive their refund. I've gone ahead with changing the original price, but am concerned I should've gone through the resolution centre instead.
Thanks! 😄
