In the calendar, you are given an option to set custom promotions that draws people to your listing. For example, 10% gets you "New line item on your price breakdown." The higher the discount the more exposure you get.
The new option, "Nearby getaways promotion." gives a 10% discount for 2 weeks stay. Looks like it's hard-set on 10% across a 2 week period. And also hard-set on very specific days. For example, October 30 - November 12. There's no work-around on this. Anyone know why this is the case?
Also, how "nearby" must someone be for them to qualify or be disqualified from the promotion?
I use Airbnb to travel as a guest and last week I received the email with offers for Nearby getaways. Nearly all of the listings offering discounts were in Canada which is anywhere from 3-5 hours away from me. So I suppose they are "nearby" and would make a nice getaway expect for the fact that I cannot get into Canada right now. So the whole thing was really pointless.
My 'nearby getaways' email is for Toronto, @Emilia42 , also three hours away, and the hotspot for COVID-19 cases in my province right now...
I don't like to think that the bot is trying to kill me.
Anyway, @William810 , for remote folks like Emilia and me, in Maine and Ontario, it looks like three to five hours is "nearby" and the closed border is not taken into account.
For you in LA, surely it would be closer. Are you getting any guest-side emailed promotions?
