How important is your entrance hall for keeping your home tidy?

Entrance.jpg

Hello everyone,

As with any home, the entrance can often be a busy place. Thinking of my own home, it’s the place I take off my shoes, hang my coat and generally declutter from all the things I need to keep me comfortable outside!

Do you have a system or place for your guests entering your home? Do you encourage your guests to remove their shoes when they enter your home? Do you have dedicated areas for housing coats or shoes, in order to prevent extra dirt in your home? Perhaps you simply have a doormat!

Thanks,

Lizzie

I don't wear shoes in the house myself, and would prefer that guests don't, but it's not a biggie for me, as the guests only use the kitchen downstairs, accessed off the covered terrace, and their own room and bath upstairs, and all the floors are tiled. I have my own shoes in a shoe basket just outside the door on the terrace, if guests get the hint, that's great.

Some friends of mine have a welcome mat that says "Go Away."
