I have been underpaid. It is a small amount but worrying in that there is no one to contact.

3 nights @£80.00 makes £240. I have been paid 239.  Wouldnt normally grumble but realised if it was a larger amount I have been unable to sort it? And now this post is trying to get me to repair highlighted errors and there are none

Hi @Rosie10, this has come up once or twice before and I suspect it has something to do with exchange rates. The link here gives you the methods and numbers to call AirBnB, and the UK number is 0203 318 1111.

Hi Rosie,

I've had this problem too - I put a post on here last week about it.  After speaking to someone at Airbnb, it seemed to have been resolved, and they refunded me the £1 (!) - but now it's happened again, twice more.  I spoke to someone else at Airbnb who told me it was a bug and he would be flagging it up. I pointed out that I couldn't believe it was only happening to me and that multiplying all these £1s by the thousands of hosts would amount to quite a lot of extra profit for Airbnb.  As far as the drop in the value of the £ is concerned, I can understand it making a difference to the fees - but not the room rates that hosts decide upon.  Anyway, I'm still waiting to get my latest refund and think I'll probably have to chase them up.  If you could ring them as well it might flag the problem up a bit more.  I'd be interested to hear how you get on.  Best wishes, Jo

Yes I have had this now for the second time.

The first time the statement said,

'4 nights @£20 per night=£79

I call it 'chipping' or 'skimming'

When I phoned up, I was told that it was to do with currency conversion and there was nothing they could do about it. They refused to refund me the £1 but I did get a voucher.

How convenient that it always works in their favor!

This must be damaging goodwill a fair bit I would think. Especially the reluctance to refund. It must also cost them money in Customer Services man-hours.

Yes, this has happened to me twice. The first time it was £21 instead of my minimum of £22. I went to Change reservation and put in £22 and was given the proper amount after it had been approved. The second time it was 2 x £22 is £43! I tried to change that but it wasn't approved. I am also concerned about this. It is a small amount, yes, but it the principle. If airbnb do this to thousands of us every week they will be cashing in. Not good for PR...

Hi it's currency conversion rounding.  See my FAQ “Host Payments: Amount Was Different From Expected ... - Airbnb Community” in the community help guides.
