So I had a terrible experience with a guest. I was classy on the review of him. But his review was nasty and full of lies because we had to go through Resolution Center and I was awarded the fee. He had reviewed me first, then I reviewed him, and addressed his points in a reply. I personally think that IF you go through Resolution Center and it is found in the favor of the Host, the review, of now ANGRY guest, should not be allowed... But it is.
Can it be sent to AirBnB to be removed due to it being an issue that had to go through Resolution Center or a reply is all recourse we have?
If they are lies then AirBnB will help - if they are opinions of your property, hosting style etc then it's harder as people are entitled to give an opinion as long as it is not false or malicious. As long as all of your communication was through the AirBnB platform then you are in a better position as it may show how the issues developed etc.
You can also reply publicly to his review (in a calm collected manner of course)...
An award from the Resolution Centre in itself is no reason however for a review to be removed.
You know how to contact AirBnB to ask them if they would consider removing it?
Is it still possible for you to remove your reply? All your other reviews are so nice - I think a potential guest would see past this one. I work in real estate, clients review us on Zillow all the time and we may have one bad review out of a hundred, typically with a customer we have bent over backwards with and moved heaven and earth for. I think reasonable people expect that at a destination as popular as yours, a few people can never be satisfied. But your response sounds very angry and may be unnecessary, not only that but visually it is so long that it pushes all of the excellent content down your page so in a way it puts more focus on this unfortunate event than there should be.
I have no idea whether ABB would remove the guests review, but if it is possible to remove yours, or just shorten to a sentence that says something very short and neutral, such as "I went to great lengths to accomodate you during this stay, I am sorry that you were not pleased with the accomodations."
You can't remove them. I feel insulted by his prickness. He's clearly a scam artist (i sent texts and messages from whatsapp to airbnb for review.
I do appreciate the the need to be coff, but I also belive people need to stand up for themselves, that was actually furned down many knotches, I wanted to repost his messages (he sent me about 6 irate messages on AirBnB after he got the notice about the Resolutins Center Request).
I think the reviewer has the right to change their review upto you review them!
@Melanie58 I asked AirBnB to remove the reviews and they did because they violated policy about discussing cases. So all good!
Hi
how did you contact them? I have the same issue and I cannot see how to flag this with Airbnb.
thanks
