Local township short stay taxes

I have a question for any other host in the Vernon, NJ area related to short stay taxes:

1) Does our town charge them (what rate if so), and 

2) How did you go about registering?

I work a good distance away so cannot get to town hall during regular business hours, and thought it safer to ask another local host for some guidance first before emailing the township.   I really will appreciate hearing another host's experience.
