Lots of views and booking on day 1... then... quiet...

Hi all,

I had lots of views on the first day that i put my place for hosting. I also got 3 bookings for 17 days for the first 30 days... its pretty good... but since then its been extremely quiet. Any idea what is going on?... Was i just lucky? Are people usually renting way in advance.... should i lower the price for the dates coming within the next 2 weeks to try to increase occupancy?... any idea would be great as to why it was so good on the first day but then quiet for the following 8 days.
