Nest versus Apple HomeKit For Front Door Management

Hello,

My wife and I live in Seattle, and host the first floor of our Townhouse on AirBnB.  Currently I work from home in Software Engineering, and am always around to meet guests during check in.  However I am interviewing for local positions, and we are going to transition to a keycode lock that is remotely controlled.  The two types of systems we are looking at are Nest controlled, and Apple HomeKit controlled.

Ideally we would like AirBnB integration, in that it automatically assigns guests keycodes they can retrieve through AirBnB, and automatically expires checked-out guest key codes.

We already have an Apple TV within Bluetooth distance of the front door, and we both have iPhones, an iPad, and a Macbook Pro.  However I don't see any AirBnB integration with HomeKit.

In September, Yale will release Linus, which works with Nest, and has AirBnB integration.  However I'm targeting August for my start month.

Any advice you could give us would be welcome.  Thank you!

What's your question to other hosts?

I'd like to hear testimony and advice from whomever has either one.

If you live there why not just use an old fashion mechanical lock-box?
Much easier...:)

What did you go with?
