New to hosting...guest is verified however reviews as a guest

I have a request by a guest from China. It is a nice picture of a young man. He is "verified" however, here is no reviews of him as a guests...so maybe he has not stayed at an Airbnb yet. I am a single woman. Any advice? What goes verified really mean? Thanks.

Hello @Laura870,

"Verified" only means that the company has confirmed that the person really is who they say they are.  It does not vouch for the person in any other way, however.

Being a first time guest in itself would not worry me.  If there is anything in the message stream that makes you uncomfortable, however, you should pay attention to your concerns.  You definitely want to feel comfortable when you let someone into your home.  Also, if you are single, you are allowed to only take guests of the same gender if you are more comfortable that way.

@Laura870 having no review can be a concern depending on how long is this person have been an airbnb user. I usually ask a potential guest who let's say been a user since 2014 with 0 reviews.
