On a future long booking Jul-Sep 2018 our potential guest can't pay now ...

Is there some way she can pay perhaps 20% deposit over AirBNB to secure the booking and then have her pay more of the balance in a couple of months time? We obviously do not want to block out such a long period without any undertaking from the potential guest. Any ideas?

It would a good idea for you to read up about long term (over 28 days) reservations, @Amanda365.  Both the payment process and cancellation policy is different from short term rentals.  Air BNB collects the first month of a long term reservation and then bills the guest each month after.
