Payment for reservations

Hi there,

This is my first time hosting on Airbnb.  It's for a time share in Cabo Mexico.  The reservation showed confirmed on Airbnb.  I have to pay the resort for the reservation.  How can I be sure that Airbnb actually has the funds from the traveler?  I found that Airbnb won't release the funds until after they check in, which isn't for over 2 months.  Not great since I have to pay now to secure the reservation with the resort...  thanks!

Hello @Jonathan350

It's true that hosts only receive payout a few days after their guests' check-in days. And for the first booking - after 30 days. It's a risky business because guests can always cancel their stays.

Thank you.  Make sense.

@Jonathan350 ABB certainly has the money or at least some of it... You won't know if you'll receive $ until the day after the guest checks in and even then hosts tell stories of reservations being cancelled last minute or guests receiving refunds after a stay because of complaints.

I would NEVER use ABB for a timeshare, way too risky

Well I guess I wish I researched this before... Thanks for the info..
