People with no or one "Verification" still able to instant book

I've probably opened 3 tickets with support about this, but just FYI, your settings for how many verifications don't seem to matter much re: use of instant booking.

At least that's true for us. We consistently get people who have only a single verification who book and we've even gotten a booking from someone with zero verifications. Not one. They also never have any reviews.

We have our settings at:
"Airbnb standard requirements:

Confirmed phone number, email address, payment information, and agreement to House Rules."

Which, if applied correctly, would be fine as we don't live there, we just rent it.

But we get people who rent all the time with one verification, like this most recent one:

The guests that are booking are old and new alike.

So far, in every ticket we've opened over that last year about this, the response has been either nothing (they just close the ticket without comment) or "We're looking into still" or "Do you want us to cancel the reservation or change your security settings?"

The last response is the most frustrating as it's just a cop out. It's not fixing the problem, because clearly there is one, and it's both causing a customer service issue for us as well as changing our settings to something we don't want or need.

We just want the setting to work like it's supposed to. If people can't even bother to get verified on the most basic stuff, then how are they able to book at all? That's the whole point of the &^$%^#% setting!

So frustrating.

@Amy-and-Brian0, I'm confused. You say that you have your IB settings at "Airbnb standard requirements" - this is chosen automatically but you need to physically select 'Government-issued ID' or 'Recommendations from other hosts' if that is what you require from your guests. Check your booking settings under 'Guest requirements' - you can change these by clicking on the 'Edit' button.
