Pricing History on a reservation change?

Hello!

We moved a guest reservation from July 2020 to July 2022 due to the pandemic.  We told them we would honor their original reservation price, even though our prices have increased.   But when we moved the reservation, the prices for the future dates are showing, not the original prices.  Other than asking the guest if they still have the original prices, how can we see the original price from 2020?  We will ask the guest as a last resort but don't want to come across as uniformed.  Thanks!

When you change a reservation the original price is initially shown in the change form. If you click once in the pricefield and then outside he price field you will see also what the guest has payed.

After you change the dates, the new price is calculated. But you can click in the price field and enter the original price. Then the reservation dates are changed, but price remains the same as in original reservation.

You should have gotten 2 emails when the guest made the original reservation: the booking request notification and the booking confirmation notification. The booking request notification has more guest info in it than the confirmation, and shows exactly what the guest ultimately paid when booking was accepted, including taxes, Airbnb guest fee, cleaning fee, etc. Hopefully you have retained those emails.

If not, this is a long shot, but most (good) software development shops have an event log they can consult to see all of the actions that have occurred on your account and/or listings. It takes some diligent programming, but there might be a “Host changed price from x to y”, or “Host accepted reservation at nightly rate of x” type of message in the logs for your account. You could call CS and ask them if they have access to such a log.
