REALLY?? Does thumbs down and negative review mean anything

If I give a guest a thumbs down for leaving the house a mess (nothing broken/damaged but they definitely did not follow house rules) can they book my house again?  I have instant book so just want to make sure that they don't return.

If you give them three stars or less in all categories and a thumbs down I believe they can no longer instant book anywhere although they can request a stay.  But really it doesn't matter all that much because its pretty easy to just create a new account with a different email or switch to a different platform all together.

Thanks Ned and Laura.  Yes, this is why I'm nervous about leaving a negative review because I'd hate for them to return on a different account and leave an even bigger mess.  What do others do about this predictament?

I think it is very unlikely that anyone would want to stay at a place (and pay money) if the host of that place earlier on left you a bad review. Please leave an honest review to warn future hosts. I have written 4 bad reviews in my airbnb hosting period. If one of those guests should show up I would call airbnb and let them cancel the booking. But I couldn't imagine that would ever happen 🙂

You can block certain guests. Check the host help section.

Thank you Susan.  But I suppose there is no way to prevent them from opening up a new account.  Very surprising with this guest given that she is also an airbnb host.
