Hi. We have someone who wants to book with us. On their verfication profile it says they have one review- but we can't read it. Any idea why? Can you not read someone's reviews until you accept their booking? If so- that seems to defeat the object, somewhat!
Thanks!
Pam
You should be able to read guests't reviews before they book of course. Maybe there isn't a body of the review? Someone didn't write it and left it blank?
No, that is not correct. There is a 14 day review period. During that period, a host may post a review, but since the guest has not posted a review, the content will not be available until the 14 day period expires, or until the guest finally posts their review, thereby "unlocking" the host review. For people who are road-tripping from one place to another, it really isn't uncommon for them to maybe accumulate 3-4 reviews that are not unlocked yet prior to arriving at your house as they may be Airbnb-ing the whole way. The host and guest have very different environments. The host exists in their quiet, stable location with easy access to technology, where the guest may be trying to break away from technology during their vacation, generally traveling through areas that lack internet, or driving 12 hour days where really it would be inappropriate to be writing reviews.
If the guest has a review but you cannot see it, all you can know is that they have recently stayed at an Airbnb within the past two weeks.
