Renters want to leave a day early because they found permanent housing

I have a couple staying with me that were planning on finding permanent housing in the city, they have found it but want to leave a day early. Do I offer a refund for the one day? How would I do that?

thanks!

My opinion is this:

If you give them their money back. You might be considered a host who cares about the people enjoying their stay, experience. Rather than a person who’s ALL ABOUT THE MONEY! Or you could give them credit towards another stay in the future? Shows that you go that extra mile.

I have a completely different opinion on the matter.

It's good that your guests have found permanent accommodation earlier than expected but you shouldn't be out financially because of it.

To be flexible, I would suggest to them that if they cancel the final night and you can find someone to replace them,  you would be happy to consider a partial refund.

This doesn't mean you don't care about your guests or that you don't go the extra mile, simply that you are running a business and shouldn't be out financially because of a change in your guests plans.

I do not get it, how would host return the money?

How do the host calculate the handling fee?

Some of my guests left earlier than the booking date,

no one asked for the refund.
