Revelstoke Cracking Down on Illegal Vacation Rentals

Revelstoke Cracking Down on Illegal Vacation Rentals

Just wanted to know if other hosts in Revelstoke, BC are having trouble coming to terms with the new vacation rental crackdown that the city of Revelstoke, BC is currently contemplating? And if so, does anyone have any suggestions or know of any loopholes for how to get around this?

Hi Jackie,

I live in Revy and own a cabin in Nakusp which is on Airbnb and runs very nicely. We are currently looking to buy a family home that has a suite or unit to rent out as another Airbnb, I am not interested in renting long term as I have lots of family visit and need that unit for when they come to stay. I am trying to figure out the limitations of the new bylaw charging $1800 for an application as well as a limit of only 120 nights. Is it for residential homes only?  I would be interested to know about your situation here.

Cheers,

Ange
