Safety deposit doesn't show up in payment request sent to future guests

Hi everyone,

We added a safety deposit to our listing however when we sent a payment request to a future guest it didn't show up.

Is this normal?

Yes, this is normal.  The security deposit does not go into action until you have a claim against it and is not charged at the time of booking. If your claim is accepted, airbnb has the authority to charge the the creditcard  of the guests in question.
