Hello Everybody,
Please I need your help and suggestions.
Basically i have a 3 apartment small building in Hammamet, Tunisia and i'm going to do a 120 sq m sea view roof top with pool, barbecue... It will be a nice spot and it will increase the value.
I want my guests to enjoy their stay so i authorize alcohol, putting music almost small party since each apartment can fit up to 9 guests...
But small part of my guests are conservative and i'm pretty sure they will not appreciate staying close to people drinking and putting music loud...
So what i want to do is :
If you're the only one in the building you can stay up to 5 am.
If the others apartments are booked you can only stay up to 11h to not disturb others guests with noise.
If you're confortable to share the roof top with others guest and you i'm fine with it.
Allow each apartment to have private time that will be selected based on first come first serve and set up three "timeframe" like morning afternoon evening
What are your suggestions and what you usually do for shared places like barbecue, pool ect
Thanks a lot
@Hamza37 I think that telling people that they can use the shared space until 5 am is asking for parties and abuse. I would make it one time for everyone; 11 or 12 is reasonable.
I think that choosing a time frame for private use also needs to be spelled out super clearly. I personally think that it's going to lead to unhappiness. I would just set the expectation that the space is shared, like at a resort.
@Hamza37 I agree with @Alexandra316 and think trying to appeal to large parties of people that want to use the shared space until 5 am might prove to be more trouble than it is worth. So, how do you get a return on your investment of fixing up a roof top. Thinking outside the box, would it be possible for exclusive access to the roof top be a chargeable amenity? Just a thought.
@Alexandra316 @Linda108i understand your point but Hammamet in the summer it's more like Ibiza and Cancun so young ppl go to the club and it's pretty common that they chill after, swimming, discussing having some beer and since i have someone that stay there and can limit access to residents only it's no really a concern for me as long as there's only residents...and for sure i'll not advertise as it's for parties to avoid any problem but in case i have a responsible ppl i'll not forbid them to do so...
Concerning private access the reason is as some of my guests are open with alcohol, swim in bikini and are easy going, some are conservative muslims and hate being mixed with alcohol and don't want any "stranger" see their wife or daughter swimming in a bikini and i have let's say 30 - 40 percent of my guest like this...
Even that i don't agree with their mindset and vision of life it's a segment of customers that i cannot decline and to keep a good occupancy rate
So that's why i need a formula, that will be clearly stated, so i'll avoid putting together people that don't like to be together for religious beliefs...
Hmmmmm, @Hamza37, If you have an even proportion of Muslim and non-Muslim guests, how about a schedule that allows alcohol and bikini swimming on some days, say MWF and a non-alcohol, modest swimming attire TuThSat? Frankly, if you can find a good way to manage these diverse perspectives, seek a job with the United Nations...they need you 😄
