Sold Home Need to cancel will it be held against me?

I took a reservation for one year out (maybe I shouldnt have), we have since sold the home and I will need to cancel. This reservation is 7 months away. Is this going to be held against me? Is there a time limit or circumstances for selling a home wihtin a reasonable amount of time? Its not like I am giving them short notice...

@Denielle-and-Tony0 If you cancel the reservation it will count against you. But since there is so much time, maybe you can appeal to the guest to cancel on their own.
