With this red tide bloom we have lost a few reservations for this month and have only 4 days reserved for the entire month of August. That is something that has never happened to us in the almost 4 years of hosting. We are usually never below 20 days booked for a month. Overall Sarasota hotel occupancy is down 75% with the beaches littered with dead fish, horrible smells and brown/red water that is normally a beautiful blue/green.
Has anyone else in the area seen the same drop off in bookings because of the red tide?
