I was sending a special offer to a guest, and the amounts come up, and they seem to be wrong, im guessing its about the currency.
How do the guest pay less then what I earn. ?? ?? ?
If this is a different currency they are showing they it should be stated.
Im just bringing it up here so Airbnb can notice and make a fix
It may be the difference in currency. Your guest might not pay in CAD currency like you do.
Yeah Calvin I had the same situation last week trying to send a special offer. It does seem like gobbledegook but the figures do come out right in the end. Once the booking is accepted it will be for the special rate you have sent.
It may be a glitch of some sort in the system but don't let it put you off, you will receive the correct amount,
My main concern is every time I view my listing the letting amount is for a different amount. It never varies by more than $3 but it does routinely vary.
I was going to tell you about a strange money occurence but I have been told by others not to wander off the the thread topic!!!
Cheers.....Rob
Hi Robin,
So the guest has to pay and then it will show the correct amount and will be charged with the correct amount too ?
I offer him with USD300 but at the amount that he has to pay is Euro 348
Thanks.
Jimmy
I can't really give an accurate answer Jimmy because I don't know what the fees and taxes might be in your situation.
You have offered $300US and this equates to 274Eu. Assuming Airbnb fees of 15% are added to that, 41Eu will bring the total to 315Eu! There will be a currency conversion fee which I think is around 3% and I don't know what other fees may apply.
I don't know how familiar you are with this but, when you send a special offer Jimmy on the reservation enquiry there will be a box which says 'Send guest a special offer' and when you click that box a drop-down will appear with your regular listing price. By using the up/down arrows you can offer what ever price you wish and the conversion will happen to show you what the guest will pay and how much you will receive for the special price you have offered. What @Calvin14 was saying which relates to that screenshot of his, those amounts do not match, they don't convert and I can't give an answer to that because I have only had dealings in my home currency and the conversion can show strange things at times but when the booking is made the figures always come out correctly.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Cheers....Rob
Hi Robin,
Thank you for the answer. I ask him to change to another gadget and set the currency to USD for default. And he can pay with the right currency and amount. My case is almost the same with Calvin.
So solution is use another device and set the same currency with the host. 🙂

I am having an issue in generating a Special Offer reconciling my earnings and what the guest pays. I think this may be related to aa currency difference as in this thread (I am in the USA and guest Christine is in Canada). However the currency is not specified as USD or CAN and the $106 shown on the lft under potential earnings for nightky rate is NOT the same as the $151.42 on the right even if you assume the latter is in CAN dollars.
I would appreciate help with htis. Am I encountering the same bug others on this thread have or is this different?
