Start up challenges and rewarding guests

I want to applaud the positive that has happened because of great guests and awesome Airbnb service reps. We are all going to face a bad guest or experience once in a while, and we as hosts must take care of ourselves and not let a bad situation get you down. I encourage any host that has had a particularly trying month to comment on my post telling the one stand out positive thing that has happened this month. Let’s remind ourselves and others about the rewards of hosting and having a great experience with a guest!

This month I opened a new Airbnb in a beautifully renovated house. I furnished, stocked, and decorated to make everything the way I wanted it( hopefully the way others want it too). I have had a very tough start:

A group that caused damages

An unfair low review

A plugged sewer

And a few other unmentionables

Then it happened, the silver lining appeared just when I needed it! A very wonderful, kind and appreciative guest stayed with me. An awesome service specialist named Amit helped get me through the damages. July is looking good, and I do believe I have worked out the kinks of opening up a new Airbnb! Thank you Laura my wonderful guest, and thank you Amit from Airbnb service!

@Katrina79  it is always good to hear a negative story with a positive outcome and a happy host 🙂

Sorry to hear you hosted a bad group, but well done for staying on course and having Laura as a guest.

Airbnb CS usually have a bad rap on here with hosts so good to hear you were helped.

Paul 🙂

@Katrina79

After a run of bad guests it's truly wonderful to have a good one come and stay.  Glad that you are able to keep a positive outlook. Hopefully the rest of the year and beyond will be filled with happy guests and lots of stars!!

I had a guest recently say how much my home and care reminded him of his grandma. Not sure how I like being compared to anyone's grandma but he meant it as a very high compliment.  Love the guests that recognize the little extras that can come with a home share room!
