Untruthful review of Host. What to do?

How to make the point that the guest was untruthful.

"This is an untruthful review. Quite frankly, I'm mystified."

Or, "This is an untruthful review. To get a better idea of what I offer, please refer to previous reviews. I'm mystified by this guest's comments."

Saying you are mystified, or something like it, is better than sounding pissed. And it sends up a red flag to other hosts. Hope this is helpful.

Merri - I just took a look at your other reviews. Maybe it makes sense to take a break from hosting to do some upgrading, just to make sure your place is in tip top shape before renting it out.

@Merri1 @Carrie1 Hi Merri......I didn't think that review was too bad! From the way the guest reviewed you they also mentioned positive things, and in your response to them you agreed with a lot of what they said......things like the door knob coming off.

It is possibly a bit harsh calling this guest 'untruthful'....they just reviewed the property as they found it. You have also got some very nice reviews Merri, most saying what a helpful accommodating host you are. But just remember, Merri everyones perception of something will be different, and just because this person found your things to be a differing standard to what they would have themselves doesn't make them 'Untruthful'!!

There was certainly nothing in this review that would warant any action on the part of Airbnb.

@Carrie1, Maybe better photos could have showed Merri's property in a more appealing way and bought out a nicer aspect to it, and I feel this may have had some influence on your comments. I agree with you that it did look somewhat dated, but it also looked clean. More professional looking photos would help.

The thing that would put me off as an enquiring guest Merri is your number of host cancellations! Four of your twelve reviews are host cancellations. Guests who travel from home need to be sure when they book accommodation that the booking will be honoured, and I am afraid with that number of cancellations I would not risk it, I would pass you by in the blink of an eye I am afraid!!!

Cheers.....Rob

I was referring to the reviews, not to the listing, as I said in my comment.
